Local gasoline prices continued to fall Wednesday, pushing the average price for a gallon of regular to its lowest level in three months.
As of 3:15 p.m. Thursday, regular-grade gas was selling for an average $3.60 per gallon, the lowest it’s been since late February, according to DaytonGasPrices.com., a website that uses spotters to monitor local gas prices.
Local prices ranged from a low of $3.47 a gallon in North Dayton to $3.69 a gallon at several area stations.
The average price last year at this time was $3.76 a gallon.
Meanwhile, Oil prices fell to near $89 a barrel Wednesday as Spain’s escalating financial crisis renewed focus on Europe’s sputtering economy and its dragging effect on global crude demand.
By early afternoon in Europe, benchmark oil for July delivery was down $1.39 to $89.37 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell 10 cents to settle at $90.76 in New York on Tuesday.
In London, Brent crude for July delivery was down $1.75 at $104.93 per barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
Crude has plunged 15 percent from four weeks ago on investor fears that political turmoil in Greece could trigger a chaotic exit of that country from the euro common currency.

Authorities are investigating numerous massage parlors in northeast Ohio on allegations of illegal sexual activity, human trafficking and money laundering.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says about 60 agents in his office's Bureau of Criminal Investigation served search warrants Wednesday on eight spa businesses in Warren, just east of Akron.
Authorities say their investigation into the spas began last July after community groups asked local police for help. No additional information was available about the allegations.
Investigators say they'll interview witnesses and gather evidence before determining whether to close the businesses. They're asking the public to contact authorities if they have any information about activity at the locations.
